🌊 THE OFFSHORE PIPELINE
The final section of the Peak Cluster pipeline extends 90km from the Wirral coast at Leasowe across the East Irish Sea to the Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) offshore storage facility in Morecambe Bay.
This subsea pipeline would transport compressed CO2 to depleted gas reservoirs under the East Irish Sea for permanent storage.

🏗️ MORECAMBE NET ZERO (MNZ)
Developed by Spirit Energy, the MNZ facility will repurpose depleted Morecambe gas fields for CO2 storage:
- Storage capacity: Close to 1 billion tonnes of CO2
- Depth: 0.8-3km below seabed
- Former gas fields: Repurposed reservoirs
- Location: East Irish Sea/Morecambe Bay
